It supports children's growth and learning. It drives planning and curriculum. It helps teachers create an inclusive classroom that supports all children. Finally, it helps teachers communicate developmental concerns to families. This training focuses on observation, planning, documentation, and reflection in the early childhood setting. It also provides information about how to communicate children's learning and development to families, even when there is a concern.

Objectives:
Participants will learn the reasons why we observe in early childhood classrooms. Participants will gain understanding on how to objectively observe children in the classroom. Participants will understand how to use observations and children's goals to intentionally plan. Participants will learn may different ways to document children's learning and communicate what children are learning through documentation. Participants will understand reflective teaching practices and how this supports quality early learning experiences for young children. Participants will understand how to communicate observations in meaningful, unbiased ways.
