Summary

Music is a universal language for all children. All children have music potential. Music can be used in a variety of settings all throughout the day in every routine. Music can strengthen all areas of development, especially physical, math and language. When used appropriately, music can help children with challenging behavior, stimulate development and learning, and make activities stimulating and enjoyable. Even children with severe developmental delays can participate in musical activities with their peers. In this session the participants will learn the benefits of music, the impact music has on the brain, examples of using music throughout our daily routine, and the participants will design a music learning center (indoor or out) and the participants will include music in a lesson plan.
