After this session, you will have a greater comfort and confidence in caring for children with disabilities and chronic illnesses. This module provide the basic knowledge and skills you need for successful integration of children with diverse needs and abili-ties in your classroom or family home. This session defines inclusion and describes how to overcome real and perceived obstacles. You will learn about the laws that are considered discriminatory under those laws.

A Place for All Children Module 1: Laying the Groundwork for Inclusion

Discover how simple adaptations can build confidence when caring for a child with diverse needs and abilities. Building on the basic strategies of creating an inclusive program, this session explores more ways to adapt traditional learning activities to meet the needs of all children. This module describes how to adapt the environment and select toys. You will also learn how to create more inclusive routines, and adapt activities to support children with diverse needs and abilities.
